Yirol East and West, situated in South Sudan, grapple with a pressing and intricate challenge—ensuring access to an adequate and safe water point. This two counties faces severe water scarcity, compounded by factors of no water projects these curent years (drilling of new borhole or Rehabilitation of the exiting water sources to the community). The demand for water is intensified by IDPs, Returnees, domestic consumption, and Schools making water a pivotal resource for the community’s survival.

Our assessment delves into the unique water-related challenges faced by the both IDPS, Returnees and the host communities of Yirol East and West counties, shedding light on the socioeconomic implications of water scarcity. From the daily struggles of families to secure clean water for drinking and sanitation to the broader impact on health, education, and security for Internal Displace person by flood and other communal conflicts, understanding the water crisis in these counties is crucial for implementing sustainable solutions.
